Job summary

Immunocore Ltd is seeking a Senior Scientist I in Characterisation within the CMC group at Oxford Immunocore. The role focuses on developing and applying biophysical and analytical methods to characterise biotherapeutics, including peptide mapping and mass spectrometry analyses.

You will contribute to impurity analysis, method development, and support process development for drug substances and products while working in a multidisciplinary team with strong scientific leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in HPLC-based peptide mapping and MS characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications in biological systems.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory experience.
• Expert in electrophoretic, chromatographic or mass spectrometry methods.

Responsibilities

• Characterise biopharmaceuticals using LC-MS/MS and related methods.
• Support impurity characterisation of drug substance and product.
• Develop and validate characterisation methods for ImmTAX and related products.
• Lead experiments and mentor colleagues; propose new approaches.
• Maintain accurate lab records and ensure safety practices.
• Present findings to internal teams and external partners.
