Job summary

Immunocore is seeking a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation within CMC in Oxford. You will develop and apply peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS) and mass spectrometry to characterise biopharmaceuticals, including recombinant proteins and antibodies.

The role spans drug substance/product impurity analysis and stability assessment, with opportunities to lead projects and mentor colleagues. Successful candidates will have extensive MS-based characterisation experience, familiarity with GMP-like

Qualifications

• Experience in development of HPLC based peptide mapping methods and MS characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independent testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding expected post-translational modifications and stability principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop characterisation methods for biopharmaceuticals, including peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS) and intact mass analysis.
• Support impurity characterisation of drug substance and drug product.
• Design and execute biochemical characterisation and comparability studies.
• Mentor colleagues and share technical knowledge across departments.
• Prepare study protocols and reports; present findings to senior management and partners.
