Job summary

Immunocore seeks a Senior Scientist I in Characterisation within the CMC group to advance biotherapeutic product understanding. You will apply peptide mapping, LC-MS/MS and mass spectrometry to characterise proteins and post-translational modifications, contributing to development and comparability studies.

Qualifications

• Experience in development of HPLC-based peptide mapping and MS characterisation.
• Glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory experience.
• Expert in electrophoretic / chromatographic / mass spectrometry.
• Experience in assay development.
• Familiar with stability study principles.
• Collaborative in diverse teams and drive for improvements.
• Presented findings to internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

• Characterise biotherapeutics using peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS) and intact mass analysis.
• Support impurity characterisation of drug substance and product.
• Design and run biochemical characterisation, stability and comparability studies.
• Contribute to development of characterisation methods for ImmTAX products.
• Write study protocols and reports; present findings to teams and partners.
• Mentor colleagues and share scientific knowledge.
• Maintain up-to-date laboratory records and documentation.
• Provide guidance on effective use of laboratory equipment.
• Communicate research findings to senior management and collaborators.
• Adhere to safe working practices per EHS policies.
