Job summary

IMMUNOCORE LTD is seeking a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation to advance protein analysis for biopharmaceutical products. The role focuses on peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS), intact mass analysis, and glycosylation studies to support drug substance and product development.

You will contribute to method development for ImmTAX and other products, perform independent testing, and mentor junior staff within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in development of HPLC-based peptide mapping and MS characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Experience in glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understand expected post-translational modifications in biology.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory experience.
• Expert in electrophoretic/chromatographic/mass spectrometry techniques.

Responsibilities

• Characterise biotherapeutic substances using peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS) and intact mass analysis.
• Support impurity characterisation of drug substances and products.
• Develop characterisation methods for ImmTAX and related products.
• Lead studies, design experiments, and mentor colleagues as needed.
• Prepare protocols and reports; present findings to teams and partners.
• Ensure records and equipment usage follow EHS and GMP-like standards.
