Job summary

Immunocore seeks a Senior Scientist I to lead characterisation efforts for recombinant proteins and biologics. The role focuses on peptide mapping, mass spectrometry, glycosylation analysis, and intact mass characterization within a GMP-aware biopharma environment.

You will support impurity characterization, process development, and method development for ImmTAX and related products, contributing to high-impact research and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience in development of HPLC based peptide mapping methods and MS characterization of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Experience of glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Experienced in characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.

Responsibilities

• Characterise biological products including peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS) and intact mass analysis.
• Support drug substance and drug product impurity characterisation and identification.
• Contribute to development of characterisation methods for ImmTAX and other products.
• Design and perform biochemical characterisation, stability and comparability studies.
• Contribute to study protocols and reports; present findings to teams and partners.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to colleagues; ensure laboratory records are up to date.
