Job summary

Immunocore is seeking a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation to advance analytical methods for biopharmaceutical products. You will apply HPLC and LC-MS/MS to map peptides, analyse post-translational modifications, and support impurity characterisation in drug substances and products.

The role involves collaborating across teams, mentoring colleagues, and ensuring high-quality data and compliant lab practices while driving method development for ImmTAX and related biologics.

Qualifications

• Experience in development of HPLC based peptide mapping methods and MS characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Experience of glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Proven track record coordinating extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Skilled in characterisation of proteins from microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications in biological systems.

Responsibilities

• Characterise biotherapeutic proteins using LC-MS/MS and HPLC techniques.
• Develop and adapt analytical methods for peptide mapping and mass spectrometry.
• Collaborate on impurity characterisation and identification in drug substances/products.
• Mentor colleagues and present findings to internal/external audiences.
• Ensure laboratory records are accurate, timely, and compliant with EHS/GMP practices.
