Job summary

IMMUNOCORE LTD is seeking a Senior Scientist I to drive characterisation work for biopharmaceuticals, including peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS) and intact mass analysis. The role covers impurity characterisation, PTM analyses, and method development across microbial and mammalian expression systems.

You will contribute to protocol writing, data interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration within a GMP-aware environment, supporting process development and analytical validation.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing HPLC-based peptide mapping methods and MS characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinating extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding expected post-translational modifications in biological systems.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory experience.
• Expertise in electrophoretic, chromatographic, or mass spectrometry methods.

Responsibilities

• Characterise protein sequence and PTMs using LC-MS/MS and other MS methods.
• Support impurity characterisation for drug substance and product.
• Develop and validate characterisation methods for ImmTAX and related products.
• Design biochemical characterisation, stability, and comparability studies for biologics.
• Contribute to study protocols and reports; present findings to teams and partners.
• Provide mentorship and guidance on technical aspects; propose new experiments.
