Job summary

Immunocore is seeking a Senior Scientist I to drive characterisation efforts within the CMC framework in Oxford. You will lead LC-MS/MS peptide mapping and mass spectrometry analyses to support biopharmaceutical products, with emphasis on glycosylation and PTMs, across microbial and mammalian expression systems.

You will contribute to method development, process understanding, and impurity characterisation, while mentoring colleagues and delivering high-quality data for regulatory submissions.

Qualifications

• Experience in development of HPLC-based peptide mapping methods and MS characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications."
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory experience.
• Expert in electrophoretic, chromatographic or mass spectrometry techniques.
• Experience in assay development.
• Knowledge of GMP principles is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Characterise biopharmaceutical proteins using LC-MS/MS and peptide mapping.
• Develop and optimise characterisation methods for biopharmaceutical products.
• Support impurity characterisation of drug substance and drug product.
• Mentor colleagues and share analytical knowledge across teams.
• Prepare study protocols and reports; present findings to stakeholders.
• Ensure data integrity and adhere to EHS policies.
