Job summary

Immunocore is seeking a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation in Oxford, within the CMC framework. The role focuses on protein and product characterisation using HPLC-based peptide mapping and MS analyses to support development and comparability studies.

You will contribute to methods for glycosylation analysis, PTMs, and stability in microbial and mammalian systems, with data-driven decision making and presentations to internal and external audiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in HPLC-based peptide mapping and MS characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected PTMs in biological systems.
• Bench-based biopharma lab experience.
• Expert in electrophoretic / chromatographic / MS techniques.
• Experience in assay development.
• Biopharma stability study principles and interpretation.
• Collaborative, change-oriented with strong presenting skills.

Responsibilities

• Characterise proteins using HPLC peptide mapping and MS.
• Develop and refine analytical methods for biopharmaceutical products.
• Interpret data and present findings to teams and partners.
• Support development of peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS) and intact mass analysis.
• Ensure laboratory records and safety practices are maintained.
