Job summary

Oxford Immunocore is seeking a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation within the CMC group. The role focuses on growing characterisation capabilities for Biologics, including peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS), intact mass analyses, and monitoring post-translational modifications of recombinant proteins and antibodies.

Qualifications

• Experience in development of HPLC based peptide mapping methods and mass spectrometric characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Experience of glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of post-translational modifications in biological systems.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory environment experience.
• Expert in electrophoretic, chromatographic or mass spectrometry methods.
• Assay development experience.
• Biopharmaceutical stability study principles and interpretation.
• Diversity in team environments; driving changes in practices.
• Presented detailed scientific findings to internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

• Characterise drug substance and product impurities.
• Perform protein sequence and PTM identification including glycosylation analysis.
• Characterise process intermediates to support substance/product development.
• Contribute to development of characterisation methods (LC-MS/MS, intact mass).
• Design and conduct biochemical characterisation, chemical stability and comparability studies.
• Contribute to protocols and reports; present findings.
