Immunocore in Oxford seeks a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation within the CMC team to advance analytical characterisation of biopharmaceuticals. You will apply HPLC peptide mapping, mass spectrometry and glycosylation analysis to characterise recombinant proteins and antibodies, contributing to process development and method validation.

You will work in a bench laboratory environment, coordinate testing, mentor colleagues, and present findings to internal teams.

Qualifications

• HPLC peptide mapping method development and MS-based characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications in biological systems.
• Expertise in electrophoretic, chromatographic, or MS techniques.
• Assay development experience.
• Biopharmaceutical stability study principles and interpretation.
• Diversity of team environments; driving improvements and sharing knowledge.
• Presented detailed scientific findings to internal and external audiences.

Responsabilités

• Supporting drug substance/biologics impurity characterisation and identification.
• Performing protein sequence and post-translational modification identification, including glycosylation analysis.
• Contributing to development of characterisation methods for ImmTAX and other products (peptide mapping LC-MS/MS and intact mass).
• Designing biochemical characterisation, chemical stability and comparability studies of biologics.
• Writing study protocols and reports; presenting findings to teams and partners.
• Mentoring colleagues and sharing technical knowledge across departments.
• Ensuring accurate laboratory records and proper use of equipment.
• Adhering to safe working practices per EHS policies.
