Job summary

Immunocore is seeking a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation to join its CMC team in Oxford. You will drive biopharmaceutical protein characterisation using HPLC peptide mapping and MS techniques, including glycosylation analysis, across microbial and mammalian systems.

You will independently coordinate extensive testing, contribute to method development for ImmTAX products, and lead assay development and stability studies. Strong communication and collaboration across departments are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in development of HPLC based peptide mapping methods and MS characterization of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Experience of glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications in biological systems.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory experience.
• Expertise in electrophoretic, chromatographic, or mass spectrometry techniques.
• Experience in assay development and data interpretation.
• Familiarity with biopharmaceutical stability study principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute experiments for protein characterisation and mass spectrometry.
• Characterise drug substance/product impurities and perform peptide mapping.
• Contribute to method development for ImmTAX and related products.
• Design and perform biochemical characterisation and stability studies.
• Prepare study protocols and author reports.
• Present findings to teams and senior management; mentor others as needed.
