IMMUNOCORE LTD is a pioneering biopharmaceutical company focusing on TCR-based therapeutics. We are seeking a Senior Scientist I in Characterisation to join our CMC team in the UK and contribute to the development and characterisation of biologics and biopharmaceutical products.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing HPLC-based peptide mapping methods and MS characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in both microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications in biological systems.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory experience.
• Expert in electrophoretic, chromatographic or mass spectrometry techniques.
• Experience in assay development.
• Familiar with stability study principles in biopharma.
• Collaborative in diverse teams and driving improvements.
• Presented detailed findings to internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support impurity characterisation for drug substance and drug product.
• Perform protein sequence and PTM identification including glycosylation.
• Support drug substance/product process development via characterisation of process intermediates.
• Develop characterisation methods for ImmTAX and other products (peptide mapping LC-MS/MS, intact mass).
• Design and run biochemical characterisation, chemical stability and comparability studies of biologics/drug products.
• Contribute to writing study protocols and reports.
• Independently test and lead lines of investigation; propose experiments based on data.
• Share knowledge across the department and mentor colleagues.
• Ensure laboratory records are up to date and upskill others on equipment use.
• Present research findings to meetings with colleagues, senior management and partners.
• Adhere to safe working practices per EHS policies.
