Job summary

Immunocore is seeking a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation within CMC in the UK. The role focuses on developing and applying analytical methods to characterize biological therapeutics, including peptide mapping and mass spectrometry, ensuring robust impurity profiling and PTM analysis.

You will contribute to method development, transfer, and reporting, mentored by senior staff, while maintaining strict EHS and GMP-like practices in a biotech setting.

Qualifications

• Essential: BSc. or MSc. in biochemistry, biotechnology or related discipline.
• Desirable: PhD in related discipline.
• Experience in development of HPLC based peptide mapping methods and mass spectrometric characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Experience of glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.

Responsibilities

• Characterise drug substance and drug product impurities; identify proteins and PTMs.
• Develop and characterise methods including LC-MS/MS and peptide mapping.
• Lead testing programs; mentor teammates; contribute to study protocols and reports.
• Present findings to internal teams and partners; ensure lab records are up to date.
