Job summary

Immunocore in Oxford is seeking a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation to support drug substance and product development through detailed protein characterisation using LC-MS/MS and mass spectrometry methods.

The role includes leading experimental work, developing analytical methods, documenting results, and presenting findings to internal teams and partners in a compliant, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in development of HPLC based peptide mapping methods and mass spectrometric characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Experience of glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory experience.
• Expert in electrophoretic, chromatographic, or mass spectrometry techniques.
• Experience in assay development.
• Familiar with stability study principles and interpretation.
• Experience working in diverse teams and driving improvements.
• Presented scientific findings to internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS) and mass spectrometry methods for protein characterisation.
• Coordinate extensive protein testing and report findings.
• Mentor colleagues and share techniques to improve team performance.
• Prepare study protocols and reports; present results to stakeholders.
