About the role

As a Senior Scientist within Lubrizol’s Chemical Design and Synthesis department, you’ll play a pivotal role in inventing and developing molecules with unique properties to meet evolving business needs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration in a global research environment.

You’ll lead synthetic projects, optimize processes for commercialization, and develop structure-performance relationships to guide innovation. Your work will directly impact product development, sustainability initiatives, and technical support for existing products.

About you

You bring strong expertise in synthetic chemistry and a passion for driving scientific innovation. You’re analytical, adaptable, and skilled at managing multiple projects while mentoring junior team members.

You will also bring

• PhD in synthetic chemistry with post-doctoral or industrial experience
• Proven ability to solve technical challenges using scientific logic and creativity
• Track record of innovative thinking and accomplishments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for success in a global, multidisciplinary environment
• Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Proficiency in IT tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chemdraw or equivalent)

Experience with the following is a plus

• High-throughput chemistry and automation
• Machine learning applications in chemistry
• Modelling and statistical analysis
• Process development, scale‑up, and troubleshooting plant processes
