Job summary

A leading biotechnology firm in Stevenage is seeking a Senior Scientist for a 12-month maternity cover contract. You will join an innovative research team, contributing to oncology and immunology projects. Job description

CY Partners are supporting a leading biotechnology organisation in the search for a Senior Scientist to work with a global Pharmaceutical company at their site in Stevenage on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking research team at the forefront of oncology and immunology, where you’ll contribute to pioneering translational research and innovative therapies.

Responsibilities
  • Design and run immune cell–based in vitro assays (including activation, proliferation, and phenotype characterisation).
  • Plan and execute studies with patient-derived organoids and allogenic/autologous immune cells.
  • Perform high-parameter flow cytometry (10+ colours), including staining, data collection, and analysis.
  • Support multimodality experiments across cross-functional research projects.
  • Report findings, troubleshoot experiments, and contribute to collaborative teams focused on cutting-edge oncology research.
Requirements
  • A BSc or higher in Cell Biology, Immunology, Oncology, or related discipline.
  • Proven expertise in T cell biology, tumour immune microenvironment, and immunotherapy.
  • Strong experience in cell culture techniques, including immune cells, primary samples, and patient-derived organoids.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in multi-colour flow cytometry.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary project teams.
Desirable
  • PhD in Biology/Oncology or related discipline, or 3+ years of industry experience.
