Senior Quantity Surveyor - Industrial Projects

Location: Swindon

A well‑established main contractor delivering major industrial, logistics, and large‑scale commercial schemes is looking to appoint a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced project environments and enjoys taking commercial ownership across complex new‑build industrial developments.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Lead, you'll be responsible for driving the financial and contractual performance of key industrial projects from pre‑construction through to handover. You'll work closely with project managers, planners, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure accurate cost control and successful commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial management on industrial/logistics projects from tender award through to completion.
  • Prepare and manage valuations, cost forecasting, applications for payment, and final accounts.
  • Manage procurement processes including tender packages, subcontractor negotiation, and contract administration.
  • Assess variations, risks, and opportunities, ensuring robust commercial protection for the business.
  • Provide accurate commercial reporting and support senior management with financial insight.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and wider delivery teams.
About You
  • Strong background as a Quantity Surveyor within industrial, logistics, distribution centres, or large steel‑frame new build environments.
  • Excellent understanding of NEC or JCT contract forms.
  • Confident in leading commercial strategy and mentoring junior team members when required.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
