Job description

We are looking to strengthen our Commercial team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Belfast with hybrid working available.

You will report directly to the Commercial Manager and you will be expected to take responsibility for the Commercial Management of Project(s).

Key Responsibilities
  • Quantity surveying duties in respect of managing projects and work packages
  • Liaise with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control cost
  • Collaborative work with the client to ensure business requirements are met
  • Manage the main contract ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised as necessary
  • Prepare and issue subcontract documentation
  • Assist in the management and performance of subcontractors
  • Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment
  • Prepare project cost and value reports, budgets and forecasts
  • Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff
  • Continuously develop professionally by participating in external networking, conferences, associations and groups to stay current on industry changes and innovations
  • Maintain a positive and solution‑oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback
  • Undertake additional duties, training and/or hours of work as reasonably required and consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role
  • In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the department and MWH Treatment, maintaining mutually constructive, positive and beneficial relationships
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality
Essential Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Working towards or having chartered membership of a recognised institution
