Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead high-impact strategic initiatives. You will focus on our new regulatory change portfolio and, with support from Leadership and the wider team, be a key voice in the setup and definition of the Portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Delivery, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring business and technology projects meet regulatory and governance requirements while aligning with our enterprise risk strategy.

In this pivotal role you’ll unite internal and external teams to deliver measurable outcomes, champion operational readiness, and keep complex programmes on track. You’ll engage confidently with executive stakeholders, manage risks, budgets, and third‑party relationships, and drive projects from conception to implementation. As a senior voice within the Delivery Management team you’ll also mentor colleagues and foster collaboration.

Typical duties include:
Planning and Initiation e.g.
  • Develop a delivery plan that takes in all facets of the delivery; this may cut across multiple trains and teams and include activities from 3rd‑party suppliers and regulatory bodies.
  • Track and understand key dependencies and milestones.
  • Recognising capacity constraints and supporting prioritisation calls.
  • Identify resource requirements and secure resources to fulfil those requirements.
Delivery Management e.g.
  • Ensuring all resources are clear on their responsibilities and commitments.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate project artefacts as defined by the Change Delivery Framework.
  • Attend key agile ceremonies at the team level where appropriate to share information and understand any issues.
  • Manage the go‑live acceptance process and solicitation of approvals.
  • Plan budget for and oversee the completion of activities to ensure the successful acceptance of IT change.
Financial Management e.g.
  • Estimate project spend in line with departmental methods; establish and agree baseline budgets.
  • Track project spend against baseline and report financials accurately and transparently.
  • Work with portfolio managers to forecast portfolio spend per annum.
3rd Party Management e.g.
  • Work with 3rd Party engagement from the outset.
  • Track 3rd party commercial commitments.
People Management e.g.
  • Driving and managing performance through coaching support and strategic goals.
  • Managing the colleagues through the colleague life cycle of employment.
Qualifications:

Please note; we can only consider candidates who can demonstrate having been a Senior Project Manager with significant exposure to change governance and compliance.

  • Experience with both (and hybrid of) Waterfall and Agile methodologies and project delivery.
