Senior Project Manager

Location: Plympton (can be further afield but would predominantly be based around Plymouth)

Salary: £85,000 to £100,000 per annum

NEOS Engineering is recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and construction business for an experienced Senior Project Manager to deliver large-scale heavy engineering and construction projects across the UK.

This role is ideally suited to a senior professional with a strong mechanical background and a proven track record of managing complex construction environments while operating as Principal Contractor.

Ideal Candidate Experience
  • Installation of steel structures, concrete foundations, and general civil works
  • Large‑scale heavy engineering and mechanical build projects (e.g. recycling plants, quarry plants, energy‑from‑waste facilities)
  • Projects within industrial, mining, quarrying, or similar heavy engineering environments (general housebuilding or commercial developments are not applicable)
You will also bring
  • Strong CDM and Health & Safety knowledge and awareness
  • Proven experience working as Principal Contractor
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts
  • A predominantly mechanical engineering background
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience on large construction projects, including 3‑5 years in a similar senior role
Key Requirements
  • Strong leadership capability, with experience managing large multi‑skilled site teams (up to 50 personnel)
  • High level of commercial awareness, including cost and budget control
  • Ability to communicate professionally and technically with clients and key stakeholders
  • Clean UK driving licence
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
