Job description

As a Senior Project Manager in Leicester, you will take a lead role in the delivery of major industrial and logistics construction projects, acting as a trusted client advisor from inception through to completion. In this senior project management role, you will provide strategic project leadership across multidisciplinary project teams, manage high‑value client relationships, contribute to business development and support the growth of the project management function. You will also play a key role in work‑winning, fee proposals and client development across the Midlands and UK‑wide. Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of large‑scale industrial and logistics construction projects across Leicester and the wider Midlands, including distribution centres, warehouses and manufacturing facilities
  • Provide strategic project leadership and direction from feasibility through to completion
  • Manage multidisciplinary consultancy and construction design teams, coordinating architects, engineers and construction specialist consultants
  • Chair client, consultant and stakeholder meetings
  • Oversee project budgets, commercial performance, construction programmes and risk registers
  • Ensure full compliance with CDM 2015, ISO standards, HSE regulations and internal quality management systems
  • Manage construction projects under NEC and JCT contracts and other relevant forms of contract
  • Oversee cost planning, value engineering and change control processes
  • Actively contribute to business development for this growing construction consultancy, including bid writing, fee proposals and client presentations
  • Develop and mentor junior and senior project management staff
  • Build long‑term client relationships across the industrial and logistics sectors and support repeat business
  • Report project performance and strategic risks to construction senior leadership
  • Support resource planning, operational development and divisional strategy as part of the senior construction project team

Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in a construction consultancy environment
  • A strong track record delivering major industrial and logistics construction projects as a Senior Project Manager or similar leadership role
  • Proven leadership skills managing multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
  • High commercial awareness and a delivery‑focused mindset
  • Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts
  • Degree in Construction Management, Project Management or a related built environment discipline (desirable)
  • Ideally chartered or working towards MRICS, MAPM or MCIOB (desirable but not essential)
  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to construction sites across Leicester and the wider Midlands region
  • Confidence working at both strategic and operational levels within a construction consultancy
  • Ambitious, self‑motivated and capable of contributing to business growth
  • Strong communication and client‑facing skills
