EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the project team on a large capital project within our growing wastewater capital projects business. You will be based at our Tamworth office with regular site visits.

The successful candidate should have experience of managing projects in a wastewater environment with the ability to manage and deliver a successful project with minimal guidance.

You will have a good working knowledge of NEC4 contract conditions, CDM regulations, programme & risk management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting.

Excellent communication, people and team management skills are required, with the ability to influence and mentor. You will have the ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Delivery of projects from outline design stage to completion including all handover documents.
  • Produce, present and drive approval of business gate papers, contract board papers and commercial board papers.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders within Severn Trent, the design team and with our contractors.
  • Produce financial forecasts, monitor and control project costs and cost reporting.
  • Produce reports for the Lead PM on project performance including programme, costs and risk.
  • Review progress, budget resources and forward planning.
  • Manage the STW project team including their growth and progression.
  • Manage the contractors ensuring programme and costs are controlled. Administer the NEC4 contract including prompt payment of contractors.
  • Work with the commercial team to produce, agree and execute the contractor’s work orders.
  • Develop engineering and design solutions in order that a buildable and cost-effective solution is delivered that fulfils the business’s requirements.
  • Manage and deliver all STW capital project deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the production of project plans, risk assessments, method statements, site waste management plans and all plans required to meet Health and Safety legislation and comply with STW procedures.
  • Raise purchase order and ensure invoices are paid promptly.
  • Ensure that all STW quality and design standards are met.
