Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Programme Support Manager for Major Projects. The role oversees a team of project support staff, coordinating administration and governance to ensure timely project delivery.

You will engage with management teams and regional leaders to plan resources and maintain high-quality support services. The position involves leading staff communications, guiding policy changes, and ensuring smooth HR processes across divisions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team with a good understanding of line manager HR processes and procedures.
• Evidence of managing stakeholder relationships and influencing outcomes.
• Experience in supporting director level communication & administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day management to your team of direct reports and project support staff; develop skills and capacity to optimise performance.
• Engage with project management teams and senior leaders to understand support needs and coordinate resource plans.
• Lead regional internal staff communications, weekly staff briefings and quarterly management plan updates.
• Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders; gather information, respond to enquiries and escalate issues as needed.
• Lead Bi-Monthly Line Managers' Forum, disseminate information and escalate concerns to senior management or HR.
• Manage timely implementation of divisional process changes and support staff through effective communication.
