Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Programme Support Manager to coordinate a team delivering project administration activities in Major Projects. The role ensures governance and reporting requirements are met and liaises with project teams and senior leaders to plan resources.

The position can be based from any NH office with travel to regional offices as required. The successful candidate will lead staff communications, develop capabilities, and drive a high-quality support service for project

Qualifications

• Understanding of project administration processes and procedures.
• Experience leading a team with knowledge of line manager HR processes and procedures.
• Competent user of standard office software to produce and maintain complex documents and spreadsheets.
• Evidence of managing stakeholder relationships and influencing outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day management to your team of direct reports and project support staff; develop skills and capacity to optimise performance.
• Engage with project management teams, Senior Leadership Teams and Programme Leaders to understand support needs and coordinate resource plans.
• Lead for the region on internal staff communications, coordinating weekly staff briefings and quarterly management plan updates.
• Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders; gather information, respond to inquiries and escalate issues to support governance requirements.
• Lead the Bi-Monthly Line Managers' Forum and disseminate new information to senior management or HR.
• Manage timely implementation of divisional process changes, supporting staff through effective communication and guidance.
