Job summary

A leading actuarial consultancy in the UK is seeking a part-qualified or fully-qualified GI actuary for an exciting opportunity in travel insurance pricing. You will manage the travel book for the UK and Middle East markets, support stakeholders in new product development, and ensure best practices in pricing strategies. Preference will be given to candidates with strong Excel skills and experience in the London Market. This role offers a chance to be at the forefront of actuarial innovation.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in pricing and proficiency in actuarial concepts and methodologies.
  • Technically astute and able to communicate clearly with various stakeholders.
  • Experience in travel insurance is desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Have responsibility for the travel book across the UK and Middle East markets, ensuring delivery of rate level indications and portfolio profitability exercises across various segments.
  • Support business stakeholders in the development and pricing of new products while promoting the development and production of premium adequacy reports and providing budget loss‑ratio estimates.
  • Ensure best practices are followed, including appropriate risk loads for catastrophic risk, commissions, expenses and profit loadings.
Qualifications
  • Technically astute and able to communicate clearly and confidently with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong experience in pricing and proficiency in actuarial concepts and methodologies.
  • Travel insurance experience desirable.
Additional Skills
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel (VBA knowledge preferred).
  • Knowledge of R, Python or other programming languages preferred.
  • Part‑ or fully‑qualified GI actuary with London Market experience desirable.
