Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complex cases, particularly those with high risk or safeguarding concerns, ensuring thorough protection and intervention measures are in place.
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of need and risk, drafting comprehensive care plans and revisiting them regularly to adjust to the evolving needs of children and their families.
  • Provide precise written and verbal reports, including for court proceedings, rooted in a detailed analysis of evidence.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support fellow social workers and child practitioners, driving professional development and quality assurance.
  • Support recruitment, induction, and training efforts, fostering a culture of continuous professional growth.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners in integrated planning and safeguarding children’s welfare.
  • Act as a practice assessor for students and newly qualified social workers, upholding social work standards and ethics.
  • Lead key meetings such as case reviews and strategy discussions to facilitate effective communication and planning.
  • Balance a caseload of complex cases while maintaining leadership responsibilities.
  • Engage in service development activities and ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Promote anti-discriminatory, trauma-informed, and child-centred practice while maintaining accurate records for monitoring and reporting purposes.
