Forward Role has partnered with an established travel business seeking an experienced Senior Platform Product Owner to lead the development, optimisation and delivery of a core operational platform that supports a growing travel and tour operating business.

This role is critical to ensuring that reservations, operations, finance, contracting and customer service teams have scalable, efficient and compliant systems that enable high‑quality customer experiences and commercial performance.

You will own the product vision and roadmap for back‑office systems, translating complex operational needs into clear, prioritised delivery with engineering teams and external partners. Acting as the bridge between business and technology, you will drive continuous improvement, automation and modernisation across end‑to‑end travel operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain the product vision and roadmap for back‑office systems, aligned to business objectives, regulatory requirements and commercial priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, AI adoption and system enhancement that deliver measurable operational value.
  • Gather, analyse and translate business requirements into clear user stories, workflows and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with engineering teams, third‑party vendors and implementation partners to deliver high‑quality features, integrations and upgrades.
  • Act as the primary liaison between operations, customer service, finance, contracting, commercial and IT teams.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional workshops to ensure operational needs are clearly understood and represented.
  • Ensure workflows are efficient, scalable and aligned with best practice in travel and tour operating.
  • Support and optimise key processes including booking management, documentation, supplier management, pricing, financial reconciliation and customer experience.
  • Monitor product performance, identify defects and process gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure systems and processes comply with travel regulation, data protection, payment security and financial controls.
About You
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager or_AGENT? Supplier? Oh sorry: Already correct line: Proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner within travel, tour operations, OTA, airline or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of end‑to‑end booking, fulfilment, supplier management and travel finance workflows.
  • Hands‑on experience with reservation systems, back‑office platforms, CRM and finance systems.
  • Experience with API integrations, third‑party platforms and complex system dependencies.
  • Background in system migrations, platform modernisation or large‑scale operational upgrades.
  • Practical understanding of booking management, amendments, documentation, pricing and fulfilment.
  • Working knowledge of travel finance processes such as refunds, reconciliation and regulatory reporting.

  • Competitive Salary £55,000-£60,000.
