Job summary

Partnerize in Edinburgh is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead deployment architecture and modernise the Kubernetes platform. You’ll be embedded with engineering teams, optimizing day-to-day delivery across our on-premise estate while shaping and rolling out our Kubernetes platform.

This is a hands-on role with true autonomy over CI/CD pipelines, guardrails, and migration strategies, enabling engineering to ship value quickly while maintaining platform stability.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Extensive Ansible experience (roles, inventories, vault, idempotency).
• Production Docker and Docker Compose experience.
• Strong networking fundamentals.
• Scripting in Bash and Python.
• Experience with GitOps tooling (ArgoCD or Flux).
• Observability tooling experience (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alertmanager).
• Autonomous, security-conscious and pragmatic mindset.
• Nice-to-have: Helm chart authoring; Terraform; Secrets management tools.

Responsibilities

• Utilise Ansible to automate deployments and feature releases with peer-review processes.
• Monitor cluster health and collaborate on incident response; drive post-mortems.
• Maintain deployment runbooks and self-service guides for onboarding and releases.
• Shape platform design as a key Kubernetes stakeholder; define self-service workflows and guardrails.
• Build CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes using Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD or equivalents.
• Document templates and best practices for safe onboarding and operations.
