Job summary

Partnerize is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the deployment architecture and modernise how workloads are deployed and scaled. You will own CI/CD pipelines, guardrails, and migration strategies, shaping production readiness while collaborating with TechOps to ensure platform stability.

You will drive Kubernetes platform maturity, implement self-service workflows, and champion secure, reliable delivery across on-premise estates.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong, demonstrable experience with Ansible: roles, inventories, vault, idempotency.
• Comfortable with Docker and Docker Compose in production environments
• Understanding of networking fundamentals
• Strong scripting ability: Bash and Python
• Experience with GitOps tooling: ArgoCD or Flux
• Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alertmanager or equivalent)
• Ability to think creatively within constraints and plan pragmatically around them: our stack is real-world, not greenfield-perfect, and we need someone who can deliver iteratively, working with what exists today while roadmapping towards the ideal state
• A methodical, security-conscious approach

Responsibilities

• BAU & Platform Stability: Utilise and contribute to Ansible-based deployment automation to facilitate seamless product feature releases.
• Monitor application health within the cluster with TechOps, driving post-mortems for engineering-led deployments.
• Maintain runbooks and self-service guides to streamline onboarding and releases.
• Kubernetes: shape engineering self-service workflows, guardrails, and standards; contribute requirements for Kubernetes primitives.
• Standardise configurations for ingress, RBAC, namespaces, and secrets management.
• Drive phased migrations to Kubernetes, starting with non-critical environments.
• Build CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes deployments with automated guardrails.
• Implement application observability with metrics, logging, and alerts.
• Create deployment templates and documentation for safe self-service.
