Position: Senior Planning Manager

Location: Hampton or Rickmansworth with hybrid working available

Salary: 85-95k (Neg DOE) plus car/allowance, bonus and excellent benefits package

Our Client: An integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They employ over 1,000 staff across eight regional centres, supporting six long‑term water sector frameworks via joint ventures and alliances.

The Role

Our client is in a period of significant growth and is looking to enhance their Programme Team with the recruitment of a Planning Manager for the Thames region.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor and inspire the Planning Team, ensuring high‑quality project programmes.
  • Support Project Managers and teams in the Thames Water region to deliver high‑quality programmes.
  • Create detailed Primavera P6 programmes, develop templates that meet client expectations.
  • Develop and maintain project plans using reliable project‑management methodologies with assurance of baseline scheduling.
  • Line‑manage the planning team – workload balancing, mentoring and development.
  • Provide technical expertise in Primavera P6, MS Project and related planning activities.
  • Develop project, programme and framework‑level reporting to enhance information and intelligence for business planning using PowerBI.
  • Manage the link between the regional planning team and the business’ Head of Planning.
Essential Experience
  • Extensive Project Planning experience.
  • Technical proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for monitoring and controlling project deviations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Relevant professional qualifications and certifications.
  • Experience with Power BI and/or similar project reporting software.
Desirable Experience
  • Academic qualifications in construction or infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure and/or water industry experience.
  • Personnel line‑management experience.
  • Project management and delivery experience.
  • Consultancy or client‑facing environment experience.
