Job description

We're looking for two Senior Planner's to join our Natural Resources team, working each on one of our major project sites for Thames water at either East Hyde, Bedfordshire or Hogsmill, Surrey. In this role you'll lead planning to deliver programmes of work within non‑infrastructure schemes like upgrades to wastewater treatment works.

Location: Working from home, office and either East Hyde, Bedfordshire or Hogsmill, Surrey. Contract: Permanent, Full Time – flexible and part time hours may be available if desired, just let us know.

Responsibilities

We're looking for a Senior Planner to join our NRNN business unit. You'll lead the planning and be responsible for ensuring that the Planning function plays a pivotal role in the successful delivery of assigned projects(s) / packages. This will generally be on large, complex multi‑discipline (Civils and MEICA) infrastructure projects in the Water sector and you'll be responsible for developing robust programmes, monitoring progress, identifying risks, and ensuring the successful execution of assigned projects(s) / packages.

Your day to day will include:

  • Being the programming and planning conscience on a water asset management programme of works.
  • Be the lead in Planning to deliver all programme and project controls outputs for your assigned works and assist others for the wider works.
  • Accountable for ensuring full compliance with contractual requirements, including programme submissions, early warnings and change management.
  • Produce comprehensive programmes from 1st principles.
  • Review resource loading, and maintain schedule resources in a Primavera P6 environment, to support project management decisions on sequences of work.
What are we looking for?

This Senior Planner is great for you if you have:

  • Relevant onsite experience in a role with transferrable skills on complex, major Construction Industry projects.
  • Knowledge of Site works and methodology, construction phasing, sequencing, and integration of design, procurement and delivery activities of Project lifecycles.
  • Able to understand design (/technical) information, drawings, specifications, interpret markups and contract documents.
  • Proven understanding of plant, equipment, labour and material requirements for carrying out works and typical production rates.
  • Relevant Construction Industry / Water Sector related degree (or experience and training).
