Job description

My client is seeking a senior or principal geotechnical engineer to assist in the continued growth of the company.

Applicants should be graduates in geology, engineering geology or civil engineering, probably with an appropriate second degree. They expect them to be chartered as engineers or geologists and to have a goo level of industry experience.

They are looking for solid experience in the UK geotechnical / ground engineering industry, and a track record of delivering ground investigations and complex ground engineering solutions for buildings and structures. The successful applicant will have an understanding of geology, the ability to develop ground models from ground investigation data and experience of carrying out foundation designs, ground movement analyses and the use of industry software such as PDisp, XDisp and slope stability programs. Experience in carrying out finite element analyses would be desirable.

The successful applicant will join their management team and will be expected to assist in driving the growth of the company. The ability to manage junior staff is therefore essential, along with an understanding of business development and existing contacts in the industry. A desire to be involved in shaping the future direction of the company is critical, as it embarks on an exciting new phase of growth.

The position will be based in their attractive converted barn in the Hertfordshire office and is predominantly office-based. They offer a competitive salary, private health insurance, workplace pension, gym membership, weekly free fruit, regular social events and a relaxed and friendly working environment.
