Are you an experienced Cisco Network Engineer looking for a role where your work genuinely makes a difference?

We’re looking for a Senior Network Engineer to take the lead in maintaining and developing high-quality voice and data network services that support vital public services across South Wales.

You’ll be joining a forward-thinking digital team driving technology transformation across the organisation a chance to combine technical challenge with real purpose.

The Role

In this hands‑on role, you’ll be responsible for the operational delivery and optimisation of our Cisco-based infrastructure. From ensuring seamless connectivity across LAN/WAN/VPN environments to securing the network and supporting VoIP systems, your expertise will keep our digital services running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the configuration, maintenance, and support of Cisco LAN/WAN/VPN infrastructure
  • Ensure secure and resilient data and voice services across multiple sites
  • Manage and optimise firewalls, wireless networks, and cybersecurity tools
  • Support and integrate VoIP and unified communication systems
  • Collaborate with IT and digital project teams to deliver infrastructure improvements
  • Oversee network lifecycle management, capacity planning, and business continuity
About You

You’re an experienced Network Engineer who thrives in complex environments and enjoys taking ownership of your work. You have strong hands‑on Cisco experience and a passion for reliable, secure network delivery.

  • Proven experience in Cisco configuration and troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, VPN, routing, switching, and wireless technologies
  • Understanding of network security firewalls, IDS/IPS, MDM
  • Experience supporting VoIP or voice communication systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CWNA, ITIL
  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst Switches and ASA 5500/5500‑X Firewalls (FirePOWER)
  • Background in public sector or healthcare IT environments
