We are recruiting an experienced senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join a high-performing commercial team in London Docklands. This role involves managing multiple projects, maximising commercial returns, and ensuring contractual compliance while maintaining strong client relationships.

Role Overview

The Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor will lead commercial management across MEP-focused projects, tracking budgets, monitoring performance, and providing guidance on contractual and cost-related matters. Ideal for candidates with strong MEP expertise, advanced contract knowledge, and proven leadership in Quantity Surveying.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple MEP projects to maximise commercial returns while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Track project deliverables, budgets, and cost control procedures, ensuring commercial systems are used effectively.
  • Lead and mentor commercial teams to drive successful project delivery.
  • Review tender documentation to identify risks or potential gains.
  • Review and approve contractors and suppliers in line with project requirements.
  • Manage contractual correspondence, including detailed analysis of EOT notifications, claims, and other contract-related communications.
  • Continuously monitor project progress to ensure timelines and budgets are maintained.
  • Assist in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Report on actual costs vs estimates, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Present clear reports on project progress, problems, and solutions.
  • Ensure project teams understand contractual arrangements to meet client and partner requirements.
  • Oversee subcontract management, ensuring compliance with scope, payments, compensation events, and programme submissions.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying & Construction Economics, or equivalent recognised by SCSI/RICS.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, with MEP or large Data Centre experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (RIAI, FIDIC, JCT, NEC, etc.).
  • Commercially astute, with understanding of market trends and competition.
  • Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to critically evaluate documentation.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and PQS relationships.
