This role is ideal for a senior‑level mechanical engineer who thrives on technical leadership, enjoys client‑facing responsibility, and is ready to influence the delivery of complex, high‑profile projects across multiple sectors.

You’ll join a supportive, collaborative and highly skilled engineering group known for delivering exceptional technical solutions across the North West, the UK and internationally. The team works across major project sectors including Residential, Commercial, Healthcare, Science & Research, and Mission Critical & Data Centres, offering extensive opportunities to expand your technical and leadership experience.

The Role

As an Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will lead projects, guide multidisciplinary teams, and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners. You will play a pivotal role in developing the regional offering, supporting future work pipelines, and ensuring consistent delivery of high‑quality building services design.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Acting as a key client contact, building and maintaining strong professional relationships
  • Leading major project delivery, from brief development through to completion
  • Supporting bid preparation, contributing to work winning and developing new opportunities
  • Taking responsibility for project profitability, quality, and technical excellence
  • Coordinating design activities across multiple disciplines
  • Delegating, managing and reviewing the work of engineers and specialists
  • Leading, supporting and developing team members, contributing to long‑term capability and succession planning
  • Monitoring project expenditure and reporting regularly to senior managementManaging risks, quality processes and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards
About You
  • Strong experience as a Mechanical Engineer delivering complex building services projects
  • Broad understanding of HVAC and all mechanical systems
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary environments with strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with relevant tools and software such as Revit and AutoCAD
  • Commercial awareness and experience contributing to project bids or work winning

  • Experience working with and coordinating complementary disciplines such as fire engineering, acoustics or modelling
