Job Description

Join us as a Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Derby

Contract/Staff Position

Your future Team: You will be joining an Embedded Team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. You will be responsible for Front End Engineering Design (FEED) activities across a range of engineering projects which will form part of the submarine's new build and development programmes. You will be required to attend site in Derby 2-3 days per week.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within the nuclear sector
  • Understanding of mechanical design, safety case, operation, (e.g., precision, cleanliness requirements, damage prevention) and LfE capture
  • Previous experience with Technical Document Authoring, Substantiation and Presenting
  • Understanding of Nuclear Health & Safety, i.e., safety case requirements (Safety Functional Requirements, Engineering Schedules and criticality prevention)
  • Previous exposure to Chemical Plant, Glovebox's and associated processes would be an advantage along with an understanding of Welding, NDT techniques
  • Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
  • Knowledge of engineering analysis tools (MathCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar)
  • BEng or similar professional qualification in an engineering related field

This role requires the successful candidate to hold (or be able to obtain) a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
