Job description

NES Fircroft are recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Integrity Engineer to support our client at one of Europe’s largest onshore oilfields.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll take the lead on senior mechanical engineering activities for static equipment, ensuring asset integrity risks are properly understood, communicated, and reduced to ALARP. You’ll also act as a key point of contact for regulatory compliance (PSSR, PSR, COMAH) and support strong relationships across both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Senior Asset Engineering
  • Approve piping isometrics, purchase specifications and fabrication quality packs.
  • Prepare technical specifications for new static equipment.
  • Review Management of Change (MoC) proposals that may impact asset integrity.
Integrity Management
  • Perform code‑compliant calculations and review third‑party analysis.
  • Maintain pipeline risk assessments and deliver annual integrity reviews.
  • Prepare monthly integrity KPIs and interrogate cathodic protection systems.
  • Review vendor reports, challenge findings, and drive follow‑up actions.
  • Update and refine engineering standards.
Corrosion Management
  • Contribute to corrosion risk assessments and approve RBAs for inspections.
  • Endorse CUI inspection plans and investigate corrosion‑related events.
  • Assess repair methods, identify inspection trends, and validate KPIs.
What You’ll Bring
  • BEng / MEng in Mechanical Engineering (essential).
  • API / EEMUA certifications (advantageous).
  • Ideally 8+ years’ senior mechanical engineering experience in Oil & Gas, though strong candidates with 5+ years in related industries will be considered.
  • Solid understanding of UK onshore legislation and pressure systems standards.
  • Detail‑driven, proactive, and confident taking ownership.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
