A leading manufacturing business is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead design projects from concept to manufacture. This role involves overseeing a design team, producing 3D models and drawings, and supporting project management efforts. Ideal candidates will have 8 years of relevant experience and a strong foundation in mechanical engineering. The position offers a salary range of £50,000 to £55,000 and a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• 8 years experience in machinery, process, or automation design.
• Experience mentoring, checking drawings, and maintaining design standards.
• Confident communicator ready to step into leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from concept to manufacture for machinery and process systems.
• Oversee a small design team, checking and approving work to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Produce 3D models, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and BOMs.
• Plan workloads, allocate resources, and support Project Managers.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
• Manage drawing release, revision control, and documentation.
