Job description
Overview

The Tax Senior Manager plays a critical role in supporting European tax planning and implementation, resolving complex tax technical issues, and leading strategic tax initiatives across the EMEA region. This role requires deep expertise in international tax matters, strong leadership in managing external advisors, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business partners.

Strategy and Planning
  • Lead and support tax planning initiatives for business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), real estate deals, and post-transaction integration.
  • Identify and resolve tax issues arising from routine business operations to enhance the Company’s overall tax efficiency.
  • Conduct in-depth technical tax research and analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors and consultants across EMEA to ensure alignment with business goals and compliance requirements.
Risk Management
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate tax exposure and ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations, including direct tax and indirect taxes.
Tax Compliance and Reporting
  • Provide technical guidance and research support for 1) the preparation and filing of tax returns across the region, 2) tax examinations within the Region and 3) tax provision process for local financial statement reporting purposes.
Tax technical matters in EMEA
  • Provides technical tax research and support for the Company’s transfer pricing, commissionaire structure and REIT matters in EMEA.
  • Collaborate with external consultants to address significant and complex tax challenges.
  • Ensure proper application of REIT tax rules to business transactions to maintain compliance and minimize risk
Business Partnership and Development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business partners and stakeholders across EMEA.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business units, providing proactive tax insights and solutions.
Professional Development
  • Stay current on evolving tax laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Continuously develop and apply technical tax expertise through training, research, and professional engagement.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in tax, preferably with a combination of Big 4 public accounting and corporate in-house tax department roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in international tax planning, compliance, and risk management.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
