Job description
Purpose

Senior Manager Group Tax Reporting Risk and Compliance is a senior leadership role within the Group Tax function responsible for overseeing the integrity, accuracy and governance of global tax reporting and compliance processes across the Group. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the Group's tax risk management framework is robust, transparent and aligned with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards. The role will work closely with the VP Group Tax and other senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Treasury and external advisors to ensure tax compliance and reporting excellence across all jurisdictions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead the coordination and review of Group‑wide income tax reporting including current and deferred tax provisions, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of corporate tax filings at Group level, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and alignment with local and international tax laws.
  • Own the development and maintenance of tax reporting frameworks, including documentation of processes and controls for SOX compliance.
  • Provide oversight and technical leadership on the preparation of consolidated tax workings for periodic Group Tax Reports (quarterly, half‑year and year‑end).
  • Ensure consistency and quality in deferred tax calculations and proof of tax schedules across Group entities.
  • Monitor and assess tax risks across the Group, providing strategic input into risk mitigation and governance frameworks.
  • Advise on effective tax‑rate management and cash tax forecasting, supporting Group Finance in budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Lead the tax audit process across Group entities, ensuring readiness, transparency and alignment with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Maintain oversight of transfer pricing documentation and compliance, ensuring adherence to arm’s‑length principles and regulatory expectations.
  • Champion tax governance across the Group, embedding best practices in compliance documentation and control environments.
  • Ensure tax processes are aligned with internal control frameworks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure tax implications of business decisions are fully considered and documented.
  • Act as a senior advisor to local finance teams, providing technical guidance on complex tax matters and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Legal, Treasury and M&A teams to assess tax implications of strategic transactions, including acquisitions, disposals and integrations.
  • Liaise with external advisors and tax authorities on complex compliance matters, audits and dispute resolution.
  • Lead the group’s Pillar 2 compliance implementation project, including data remediation.
Required Experience and Qualifications

Education:

  • CTA/ACA qualified or equivalent;
  • Strong academic background.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in international tax reporting, consolidation and compliance, ideally within a UK/US listed multinational environment.
  • Proven experience in managing tax risk and governance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong technical expertise in corporate tax, deferred tax, transfer pricing and SOX compliance.
  • Experience in emerging markets (Africa, LATAM) is desirable.
