Overview

Are you ready to make a difference in the world of rare diseases? As a Senior Corporate Affairs Manager, you'll be at the forefront of driving innovation in healthcare, launching new treatments, and creating an equitable ecosystem for people living with rare diseases in the UK. Your role will involve developing and delivering integrated government affairs, communications, and patient advocacy activities within an assigned franchise. Collaborate with Corporate Affairs colleagues and cross-functional teams to provide informed counsel, critical thinking, and effective tactical execution of campaigns aligned with business objectives. Design and implement integrated government affairs, communications, and patient advocacy activities within the assigned franchise. Deliver on policy change ambitions to enable earlier diagnosis, optimize care guidelines, and accelerate medicines access. Implement franchise communication objectives to increase engagement with key audiences through optimal channel engagement. Elevate the patient voice internally and externally through collaborations with patient advocacy groups.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver integrated government affairs, communications, and patient advocacy activities within the assigned franchise.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Affairs and cross-functional teams to provide informed counsel and execute campaigns aligned with business objectives.
  • Deliver on policy change ambitions to enable earlier diagnosis, optimize care guidelines, and accelerate medicines access.
  • Implement franchise communication objectives to increase engagement with key audiences through optimal channel engagement.
  • Elevate the patient voice through collaborations with patient advocacy groups.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience working in patient advocacy, community engagement, NHS policy or communications in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of UK political and media landscape, healthcare system, and life sciences and medicines policy environment, including processes and key collaborators.
  • A track record of growing and maintaining effective relationships with external partners and internal teams, and confidence in navigating challenging conversations.
  • Proven ability to deliver and execute multi-stakeholder engagement initiatives that align insights with business objectives and drive measurable impact.
  • Experience in synthesising quantitative and qualitative insights, and creating deliverables that inform decision-making.
  • Self-starter, able to work with ambiguity/without having the full picture.
  • Strong project and budget management skills with systematic approach to prioritisation, including previous experience of managing third-party vendors.
  • Clear ability to define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure engagement quality, reach, and impact of tactics.
  • Commitment to health equity and practical experience embedding DEI principles into collaborator engagement programmes.
  • Understanding of ABPI Code of Practice and GxP guidelines.
Desirable Skills/Experience
  • Experience within rare diseases.
  • Relationships with/understanding of UK media.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of digital solutions.
