Job description

This is a senior technician role to support all maintenance and facilities objectives and daily operations to maintain asset compliance. Ensuring all reactive and PPM repairs are completed within designated timescales and supporting wider teams. Driving excellent resident experience to the highest standards is at the core of everything you do and delivering Get Living standards in a safe and compliant manner.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and prioritise allocation of work orders in accordance with home access obligations and residential needs.
  • Coordinate and close all reactive maintenance in a timely manner along with effective communication to residents to promote residential satisfaction.
  • Oversee stock levels and supplies to ensure forward planning of all maintenance repair requirements.
  • Oversee void unit inspections to check standards of all completed works.
  • Oversee and record weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual PPM checks (Water hygiene flushing, Water temperature tests, Fire door checks, Emergency light testing, Bell testing etc)
  • Undertake general maintenance repairs (tightening and replacement of general fixings or furniture)
  • Undertake basic appliance repairs and white good replacements.
  • Undertake electrical repairs.
  • Undertake plumbing and drainage repairs.
  • Undertake carpentry and joinery repairs.
  • Undertake painting and decoration repairs.
  • Support site staff with escalated repairs.
  • Must be flexible to work around the needs of the business in the event of emergency or additional cover requirements.
Health & Safety
  • Ensure all legal, statutory and servicing compliance tests are carried out to current standards and that requirements are met to maintain accurate up-to-date records using data management systems.
  • Assist with any Crisis Management and Office evacuation measures.
  • Ensure all records are maintained and available for compliance audit purposes at all times.

Qualifications
  • Experience within the residential and / or service sectors would be ideal.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance / facilities type role and provision of references.
  • Experience and / or qualifications in painting, carpentry, electrical and plumbing skillsets.
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety, Fire, Legionella legislation and regulations etc.
  • Track record of achieving set deadlines and confidentiality of documentation/information.
  • Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and data management systems.
  • A positive team player with an adaptable and flexible approach to work collaboratively to drive results and support the wider team and business objectives.
  • Self‑motivated & driven attitude.
  • Must be pro‑active and able to use initiative to take ownership of all core duties.
  • Excellent communication skills displaying sensitivities and understanding resident to needs.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and cooperation with residents and colleagues alike.
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm.
