Job summary

Oldham Council is seeking a Senior Licensing Technical Support Officer to provide expert technical support across licensing functions and to guide junior staff. The role focuses on accurate processing of applications within statutory requirements and council policies.

As a senior team member, you will advise applicants, manage workload, and ensure high-quality service for residents, licence holders and partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Professional Licensing Practitioners Qualification.
• Experience in a busy administrative environment with delivering excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of licensing regulations, applications and processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across a broad range of licensing functions in line with legislation and policies.
• Receive, scrutinise and process licensing applications with checks on supporting documentation.
• Provide tailored advice to applicants by telephone, email, letter and face to face.
• Support Technical Support Officers, manage workloads and maintain service standards.
• Deputise for the Licensing Technical Support Lead to ensure smooth daily operations.
