Job summary

Oldham Council is seeking a Licensing Technical Support Team Lead to drive delivery of licensing services across the borough. You will lead a dedicated team, provide expert guidance on licensing legislation, and work with the Licensing Manager to improve processes.

The role requires extensive licensing administration experience, strong people leadership and excellent communication with residents, businesses and partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in licensing administration across multiple licensing functions.
• Experience in mentoring or supporting team members.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and support the Licensing Technical Support Team, ensuring an efficient and effective service is delivered.
• Coordinate and oversee licensing applications, ensuring statutory and service timescales are met.
• Provide expert advice on licensing legislation, policies and procedures.
• Manage team performance including recruitment, appraisals, one-to-ones, attendance management and professional development.
• Support service improvement initiatives with the Licensing Manager to enhance processes and working practices.
