Job summary

A leading construction developer in Exeter seeks an experienced Estimator to support land acquisitions with accurate budgets, cash flows, and project estimates. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software, with a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills. This permanent role offers a competitive salary in the range of £60k - £70k PA plus excellent benefits, with a flexible working arrangement of one day from home and four in the office.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel.
• Experienced in using estimating software like Bluebeam.
• Demonstrable ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication skills for liaising at all levels.
• Knowledge of construction techniques and current building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Utilise estimating software for accurate take-offs and cost estimates.
• Review and interpret tender documentation, drawings, and specifications.
• Analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations accurately.
• Document and record tender costs and key data throughout the process.
• Provide value engineering input and challenge design proposals.
• Liaise with internal teams and stakeholders to resolve queries.

Skills

Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel)

Estimating software experience (Bluebeam or similar)

Interpreting technical drawings

Strong written and verbal communication

Knowledge of construction techniques

Housing Quantity Surveying experience
