Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Location: 60% on-site at Heathrow Airport. 40% travel to other offices as required including Gatwick, Luton, Euston primary locations.

We're looking for an experienced Senior IT Director - Aviation and Travel who will be responsible for overseeing the Aviation and Travel IT function and ensuring that all technology systems and capabilities are aligned with the organisation's business goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Strategic Leadership: of the Aviation and Travel IT function, aligning with the organisation's objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the IT team and lead, mentor, and develop IT staff.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate senior management and customers to identify technology needs and solutions that support business objectives
  • Project governance: Oversee major IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Technology innovation: Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance business operations and improve service delivery.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure they meet service level agreements and deliver value.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Security and compliance: Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data, working to standard IT policies and procedures.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • In-depth, proven experience in senior, business facing IT leadership roles.
  • Experience in multi‑site, multi‑customer contract logistics, delivering complex, highly demanding IT services across diverse operations with high degrees of continuous improvement.
  • Specific Aviation & Travel industry experience would be highly desirable in the role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels and internally, customer and vendors.
  • Proven experience managing and developing teams.
  • Demonstrable experience managing demand for IT change, prioritising and aligning to business and IT objectives, engagement of stakeholders and partners and business case development.
  • Excellent portfolio governance skills and experience with project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting business development, leadership of the IT elements of tenders for new and innovative services
  • Strong understanding of IT product management and software development, IT infrastructure and cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience in budget management and financial planning.
  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
