Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Braintree District Council

Temporary, Part-Time
3 days per week

£389.864 PAYE / £500 Umbrella daily rate

Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Braintree District Council in recruiting a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on a part-time, temporary basis. Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to be on-site 2 days per week.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Technical support and maintenance for enterprise level server infrastructure including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
  • Manage, troubleshoot and optimise network architecture, including LAN/WAN, WIFI, firewalls, VPNs, and routing for secure connectivity.
  • Technical support and knowledge of Backup solutions and Disaster Recovery.
  • Monitor system performance and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Ensure robust cybersecurity measures, including vulnerability management, patching, and compliance.
  • Technical lead for infrastructure projects, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Administer and manage Microsoft 365/Office 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Co-Pilot, Intune, and security/compliance configurations.
  • Maintain documentation and enforcement of IT policies.
  • Local government experience.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and support teams.
