Job summary

An established international engineering organisation is seeking a Senior HR Advisor on a 12-month maternity cover basis. This role supports managers and employees during a period of change, offering HR advice and aligning HR processes. Ideal candidates should be CIPD Level 5 qualified, possess strong knowledge of UK employment law, and have proven experience in employee relations. Job description

An established international engineering organisation is recruiting an experienced Senior HR Advisor (Maternity Cover) to join its HR team on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

This is a hands-on generalist role supporting managers and employees across two locations during a period of change. Working closely with a senior HR colleague, you’ll provide practical, compliant HR advice while helping to align HR processes and ways of working.

Key responsibilities
  • Providing first-line HR advice on employee relations matters, including performance, absence, disciplinaries and grievances
  • Supporting and maintaining HR policies in line with UK employment law and best practice
  • Coordinating end-to-end recruitment and onboarding activities
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR data within the HR system
  • Producing reports and insights to support HR and business decision-making
  • Supporting HR projects, organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Proven experience managing employee relations cases
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working with HR systems and data
  • Willing to travel between sites
