Job summary

A leading health organization in North Wales is seeking a Senior Health Care Assistant for the Evening & Overnight Nursing Service. This role involves delivering patient care, supporting the Registered Nurse, and working flexible shifts across Wrexham and Flintshire. Senior Health Care Assistant - Evening & Overnight Nursing Service

We currently have the following Band 3 Health Care Support Worker vacancies within the East Area Evening & Overnight District Nursing Service:

Band 3 - 2 x 15 hours per week

The Service operates across Wrexham and Flintshire counties and the team are based in Wrexham. The service covers the hours between 6.00 pm and 8.00 am.

Further discussions can take place at interview or by informal discussions.

Full induction into the posts will be supported, with opportunities for further career development.

Main duties of the job

The role will be to support the Registered Nurse in delivery of planned and unplanned patient care to patients and offer support to formal and informal carers in their own homes and care homes.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications / Knowledge
  • Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject or equivalent experience and can evidence work based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge, and the ability to undertake clinical care duties relevant for the role which is gained through experience and work based training / short courses.
  • Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW)
  • Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting for example the principles of Safeguarding adults / children to keep patients within their care safe, and confidentiality for example General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
Ability to work with minimum supervision to a high standard
  • Enhanced DBS clearance including an/a Adults and Childrens Barred List check.
  • Ability to work a range of shift patterns
  • Ability to travel within geographical area to meet the needs of the service
